A Lot of Bluebells at Trefriw

Mum, Dad and The Boy met up with Yam, J and Skye the German Shepherd/Border Collie cross this morning and they all headed off to Trefriw for a walk.  Yam and The Boy were particularly excited because the walk they all had planned would take them to the fish-feeding lake where they previously had such a lot of fun.

There were hugs and strokes aplenty as they greeted one another and they set off on their adventure.  They walked up through the village and crossed the bridge over the river Crafnant.

Fairy Falls looked especially lovely surrounded by seasonal greenery.

Gorgeous Skye.  Bouncy, happy and excited on the bridge.

They followed a steep path that would lead them up into the hills through a forest.  Mum made sure nobody got tired or out of breath by stopping to take a few photos of a few bluebells.  *sarcasm*  The forest floor was covered in great swathes of the calming spring flowers which took Mum's breath away at every corner.  Snap, snap, snap!

A few bluebells.

A few more bluebells.

Even more bluebells.

Oh my gosh, so many bluebells!

The Boy was allowed to hold Skye's lead.

But he didn't quite understand the concept of the dog doors.  Hahaha!

They left the forest behind and moved into more open surrounding.

The weather was absolutely perfect for their walk.  Sunny but not scorching with a cool, gentle breeze.

The Family took a good break on The Outcrop and enjoyed the views across the valley.

Green!

The Boy, Yam, Skye and J taking a break.

Water for The Boy.

Awww, Yam and Skye.  Pretty girls.

Dad and Mum.

After resting their legs, The Family moved on to the stone bridge that Dad likes so much.  Mum wanted to take a traditional picture of everyone standing on it.

Skye had other ideas and had to be held.

Dad offered to take a nice picture of Mum and Yam.  'Oh yes!' thought Mum and handed over the camera.

Erm...

Yam shook her popcorn flavour Tic Tacs at everyone.  They tasted amazing!

Dad took this photo of everyone sitting on a big bench overlooking the valley.

But Skye got too comfortable and didn't want to leave!

Aha, calling her name did the trick.  Come on, Skye!

Finally, The Family reached beautiful Llyn Geirionydd.

Where they all had a sit down, apart from Skye who prefer to skim herself across the lake.  Bounce, bounce, bounce.

She also did a lot of this.  It made The Family erupt in squeals.

But Skye probably didn't understand what the problem was.

Leaving Llyn Geirionydd.  Hello monkey puzzle tree...you weirdo!

Taliesin lived on the shores of Llyn Geirionydd and some say he is buried somewhere in the area.

Then The Family reached the cave.  Yam, J and the Boy went in for a look around.

The dark, drippy cave.

At last, they reached Llyn Crafnant, the place where they would take a proper break and eat their packed lunches.  This is also where they hoped to feed the fish as they had two years ago.

Ah Llyn Crafnant <3

The rocks were harder to get to this time.  Yam leapt between them and didn't fall in.  (Obviously, as there would have been some fabulous photos of it.)

Trousers were rolled up.

Mum sat on the rocks eating her delicious wraps that Dad had made.  When she next looked up, J had stripped down to his boxers and was having a good paddle.  The water was freezing and the wind was brisk but it didn't stop him! Oh no!  He sat right down in the lake!

After a lot of coaxing, The Boy followed suit and made friends with the fish.

The Boy and J were extremely cold when getting out.  Yam helped J get his socks on.  Absolutely bless them <3

After all of the excitement and giggles, the great fish-feeding ceremony began.  And boy were there a lot of them. They seemed very hungry indeed and quickly gobbled up pieces of bagels, wraps and cheesestrings.

The fish at Llyn Crafnant.

Beautiful girl with a beautiful soul.

Yam's happy face.

The boys had warmed up, the lunches were devoured and the fish were fat and happy.  It was time to leave Llyn Crafnant and walk along the road back to Trefriw.

Yam and J, the perfect match.

Walking the long road back, stopping many times for cars to pass.  Not the most fun part of their walk.

But they did see The Mythical Guardian of the Forest once more.  *wave*

And enjoyed the colours of the new leaves.

They provided cool shade from the sun.

Oh no, the bridge had been swept away!  Back to the road and down into Trefriw they went.

For a final sit down by Fairy Falls.

The Boy <3

Although they were tired and foot-weary, The Family had all had an awesome time together and thoroughly enjoyed their walk.   Fantastic memories, here's to the next one!
